The idea for the World Olive Center for Health came from Dr. Eleni Melliou, as she announced at the Old Parliament in 2017 during the Olympia Health and Nutrition Awards ceremony.

The World Olive Center for Health was established in 2018 and has become a world leader in research and education about Olives and Olive oil in correlation with health.
Our vision is to increase the economic value of olive oil and other olive products and to promote public health through the use of certified olive oil.
The Center supports itself economically through analyses of olive oil samples, the provision of Health Claim certificates, other fee-based services, educational events, research grants, and donations.
