Aelia Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

The organic extra virgin olive oil Aelia is produced by Iliana Zafeirakou and Dimitris Tsitos who have been living in Gythio for a few years. We both at different times decided to leave Athens and live in the countryside. Our love for nature and the prosperity that the contact with it gives us, motivates us to constantly strive to improve the quality of the olive oil we produce and at the same time to use methods of cultivation and care of the field based on respect for nature.

The name Aelia comes from the name of our first daughter who was born in January 2017.

The “Aelia” olive oil has a deep green color and a distinct fruity taste. It comes exclusively from the Koroneiki variety, an olive variety that prevails in the region of Mani and makes the oil of our region famous all over the world.

Our love for nature and the natural methods of cultivation and the healthy eating has led us to create a product that we are proud of for its purity and its contribution to health and the human well-being. It is a certified organic product with certification code BIO4400003. To improve performance, only natural soil conditioners are used and more specifically zeolite rock.

The extra virgin olive oil “Aelia” is produced in Gythio, Laconia in olive groves located on the beach of Mavrovouni. The acidity in our area is very low, while “Aelia” reaches only 0.25%. Our annual production is limited as we pay attention to quality and not quantity. That is why we harvest the fruit early in the olive growing season while the olives are still green. As a result, we get a product that retains all the vitamins of the olive and more phenols. The daily fruit is harvested until 4 in the afternoon. It is then taken directly to the certified organic mill and pressed cold during the day.
In addition to the extra virgin olive oil, we produce organic table olives of exceptional quality. Our family recipe guarantees a wonderful tasty result, especially for the lovers of the sour tastes.
