Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms
In the Peloponnese, at the base of the Taygetos and Parnonas mountains, near Sparta, Lakonia, Greece, we cultivate, produce and package Kalamata and Koroneiki variety olives, only organic and certified from Bio-Hellas, since 1992. They are used as raw material to produce some of the top cold extracted high phenolic organic olive oils. Solely derived from our organic farms (Single Estate), their specialized production conditions give them distinctive characteristics, thus creating the unique Terroir – Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms.
With the emphasis given on all the olive products, from the cold extracted first harvest olive oil and unripe olive oil, the premium extra virgin olive oils, Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms are cultivated to give the raw material to unique, top quality and exceptional premium olives and olive oils.
Our olive products have superior characteristics, as they derive from our organic Single Estate. Single estate is a product that originates exclusively from a single producer, with specific production and with particular methods. The uniqueness of such a product lies in the specialized production conditions (microclimate, location, production processes etc.), that give it a special organoleptic profile of aromas and tastes.
In the past few years Sakellaropoulos Organic Farming’s olive oils and olives have won an astonishing 136 international awards at the most prestigious international competitions such as the New York International Olive Oil Competition (IOOC), the Los Angeles IOOC, Premio BIOL Italy, Terraolivo, the International Taste and Quality Institute (ITQI), EVO IOOC, Olive Japan, the Japan Olive Oil Prize (JOOP), and Great Taste Awards.
In addition to being lauded for their wonderful flavor, our products have also earned Aristoleo High Phenolic Olive Oil Awards and Olympia Health and Nutrition Awards for their high phenolic olive oil and olives. Furthermore, both products have been selected for use in scientific studies on the health benefits of the healthiest olives and olive oil.
FYLLIKON FIRST HARVEST EVOO
A very unripe, cold extracted, organic, extra virgin premium olive oil of limited edition, 100% Koroneiki variety (monovarietal), not just the first olive oil of the harvest season. Selected by hand and made from very small unripe olives, usually in early October, cold extracted at 16°-18° C in a matter of hours after its harvest and requires a large quantity of olives for the production of this specialized type of authentic first harvest oil.
A unique organic evoo with powerful antioxidant substances (polyphenols) and health beneficial properties (high phenolic olive oil rich in oleocanthal), rendering it one of our prime organic functional foods with health claim (E.U. Reg. 432/2012) that belongs to the category of olive oils that contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress . It has received multiple awards in many top international competitions worldwide for its taste and quality and is considered one of the most multi awarded Greek organic premium olive oils.
AGOURELAIO EARLY HARVEST EVOO
Sakellaropoulos organic farms were the first in Greece who packaged organic unripe olive oil Agourelaio, a premium olive oil made from 100% Koroneiki variety unripe olives, early harvest, with pungent flavor, very low acidity which usually ranges between 0,1% and 0,2%, cold extracted at 18-20° C.
For the organic Agourelaio, the harvest and extraction of the olives take place in October (early harvest), require double quantity of olives for its production as opposed to any common olive oil, resulting in a precious unripe olive oil in the category of organic functional olive oils that stands out for its rich, fruity and characteristically bitter flavor.
On October 26th 2019, after the announcement of the worldwide ranking for olive oils by the world famous EVOO World Ranking, the organic Agourelaio was ranked among the 100 TOP evoos worldwide for 2019.
The organic Armonia EVOO is derived from a combination of semi-ripe and ripe olive fruit of 100% Koroneiki variety , hand selected and cold extracted within hours at 21 – 23 °C with very low acidity, usually lower than 0,2%.
Armonia organic evoo is a unique olive oil with medium intensity, fruity aromas, golden green color, vitamins, organoleptic properties with aromas of herbs, wild greens, rich flavor, fine taste. It is an organic olive juice, an evoo with balanced and characteristic flavor stability, as well as prolonged aftertaste.
