ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE OLYMPIA HEALTH AND NUTRITION AWARDS 2020
2020 turned out to be a very peculiar year which overturned many of our initial plans. The pandemic that struck humanity could not leave the olive oil sector unaffected. On the other hand, the health crisis has further highlighted the nutritional value of high phenolic olive oil as a means of protecting human health and as a means of strengthening the defenses of the human body against a big number of diseases.
For the 5th consecutive year, the World Olive Center for Health, in collaboration with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in the framework of the ARISTOIL program that was completed this year, announces the results of the Olympia Health & Nutrition Awards. Due to the special circumstances, for the first time the announcement was made online and not, as originally planned, in the historic ceremonial hall of the University of Athens. Despite this, the value of the awards remains the same. This year, 1088 samples from Greece and 190 from seven countries participated in the competition, with a total of 450 award-winning producers and companies. We hope that when the situation is fully normalized, we will be able to congratulate you in person. With a new announcement we will inform you about each development.
On the occasion of the announcement of this year’s awards, we would like to inform you about a series of actions that took place in the last year.
The “World Olive Center for Health” fully respects the financial contributions of its members, and having a high sense of both its social responsibility and its role in strengthening scientific research in the field of high phenolic olive oil, has completed the following actions:
