SARAKINA ESTATE

Our organic olive grove, called “Sarakina Estate” is a 200 acre beautiful piece of land, filled with centuries-old olive trees, of the Koroneiki but also of the Ntopia/Local variety of Zakynthos, which harmonically cohabit with other elements of the native biodiversity, such as pine trees, eucalypti, cypress trees and many others.

Behind the name we chose for our EVOO’s brand, lies the story of our olive grove and more precisely, the story of our family’s 19^th century Italian style mansion, called “Sarakina”.

Once the center of many activities in the pre-seismic Zakynthos,  today there are only some ruins left from the mansion “Sarakina”, as if to remind us of our strong bonds with the past.

Today,  ‘Sarakina Estate’ is a certified organic olive grove and as its modern day farmers and managers, we are determined to achieve the highest quality for our product, taking cautious care at every step of the olive oil making process.

By collecting the fruits when they are still quite unripe, transferring and crushing the olives as soon as possible at a cold extraction, certified organic olive press factory and also by storing and bottling our product according to the highest standards, each decision we make aims for the highest quality and each year we are particularly proud to offer our unique, organic, “terroir”, extra virgin olive oil.
